UNIBOND INK

Unibond Urethane Ink

APPLICATION

FEATURES

SPECIFICATIONS: PURK

GENERAL INFORMATION:

UNIBOND is a gloss finish two-package ink (which must be catalyzed) for printing on hard rubber products such as hockey pucks and on other difficult surfaces like dacron sail cloth, melamine, formica. polyolefins, some rubberized finishes and some plastics.

It may also be used for printing onto nylon jackets when heat curing facilities are not available. (No heat precludes the use of our first choice, the NYLOBOND - PLUS Plastisol System).

OPACITY:

Excellent.

DRYING:

Air-Dry 15 - 30 minutes. Force dry in seconds.

CURING:

UNIBOND Inks cure by cross linking in the presence of moisture at room temperature and a completely dry atmosphere may retard curing time. Although normally these inks will be cured sufficiently for handling one hour after printing, tests for maximum resistance and adhesion should not be carried out until 72 hours after printing.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

UNIBOND Ink must be mixed with UNIBOND Catalyst prior to printing. For best results mix as 3 parts color to 1 part (by weight) OR 2 1/2 parts color by 1 part catalyst (by volume). While the above proportions are not critical, variations should be kept to a minimum.

POT LIFE:

Eight hours once catalyst has been added.

WASH-UP:

SOLV-1540, a good quality Lacquer Thinner or the Reducer SOLV-1498.

CAUTION:

Always keep inks, particularly the Catalyst container tightly covered. The Catalyst will harden if exposed to the moisture in the air. Always pretest for adhesion, abrasion resistance and other requirements.
