NYLOC Nylon Inks are formulated for direct printing on nylons such as sail cloth, umbrellas, tote-bag material and other synthetic products such as polyurethane sponges, etc. In some instances NYLOC Ink adheres satisfactorily to certain water-proofed nylon garments, but NYLOBOND Bonding Agent NYBD-9120 (see Union Ink's Technical Data sheet on NYLOBOND BONDING AGENT) used as a Plastisol additive is preferred for this application. The addition of NYLOC Accelerator NYLN-9135 is strongly recommended. (See "THINNERS - ADDITIVES" below).

Approximately 800-1000 square feet per gallon.
Air-Dry: 20-30 minutes.
NYLOC Inks can be air dried or force dried at 250F (121C) for 2-3 minutes. Test before stacking. NYLOC Inks will continue to cure after printing and drying and should not be tested for adhesion, wash and abrasion resistance until 72 hours after printing.
On some nylon materials, these inks will adhere satisfactorily when reduced with 10-15 percent SOLV-1498 Reducer. SOLV-1329 Retarder may be used to retard drying in the screen. Waterproofed and certain other nylon fabrics contain varying amounts of silicone compounds and other coatings which may prevent satisfactory ink adhesion. In all such cases it is strongly suggested to add approximately 20% Accelerator NYLN-9135 plus, if necessary, additional amounts of Reducer SOLV-1498. For maximum adhesion reduce ink sufficiently to penetrate into the fabric.
The addition of accelerators will reduce the shelf life of the mixture to a maximum of three days. (DO NOT POUR UNUSED PORTIONS OF THE MIXTURE BACK INTO THE CAN).
Monofilament meshes ranging from 150-260T (60-104 metric) are recommended. Low ink deposits will improve adhesion and abrasion resistance.
Solvent-resistant direct emulsions such as INMARCOL-R, (see Union Ink's Technical Data sheet on Emulsions) or indirect photographic stencils are recommended. Water-soluble knife cut films are satisfactory. WASH-UP: SOLV-1540, Reducer SOLV-1498 or a good quality lacquer thinner.
