General Information

Plastisol Flock Adhesive is an easy printing flock adhesive that offers unmatched durability.  This product may be tinted with plastisol toners to provide additional coverage and hiding power. After the adhesive is flocked and cured it will remain soft and pliable instead of stiffening.

Opacity

Even with the addition of toners, Plastisol Flock Adhesive is transparent.

Mesh

For best results use 60 (24 metric) polyester monofilament mesh.

Stencils

Use any direct emulsion or capillary film compatible with plastisol inks.

Additives

These inks are supplied ready to print. Always stir the ink well to determine the actual viscosity before adding any reducer. Never add mineral spirits to any plastisol ink.

Mixing Instructions

For optimum results Plastisol Flock Adhesive must be mixed with NYBD-9120 catalyst (sold separately)-

10% by weight or 12 ounces per gallon by volume.  Reducer/Detackifier may be added in small amounts if necessary .  If tinting is required, no more than 10-12% by weight of a plastisol toner should be mixed into the adhesive.

Printing Instructions

Because flock fibers must be applied to Plastisol Flock Adhesive while wet, the flock adhesive must be printed last in the printing sequence.  In order to obtain the heavy deposit of adhesive required for adequate adhesion of the flocking fibers, a rounded squeegee is recommended.

Curing Instructions

Adhesive will cure when entire ink film thickness reaches a minimum of 290º F (143º C.).  Full cure and wash resistance will be reached after 72 hours.  Higher ink film temperatures of 310-320º F (155-161º C.) will help shorten post cure time.

Wash-Up

Clean the screens and squeegees with mineral spirits or any screen wash designed for plastisol inks immediately after finishing print run.

Caution:

Always test this product for curing, adhesion, washability as well as any other specific requirement before using in production.
