MAXOPAKE NEONS

APPLICATION

FEATURES

SPECIFICATIONS: PADM-F

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Neon (fluorescent) colors are the latest addition to the MAXOPAKE color line. Like other Union Ink high-opacity inks, MAXOPAKE Neons are formulated for direct manual or machine printing on black and dark colored cotton or cotton/polyester garments without printing a white underbase.

SCREEN FABRIC:

Use a coarse mesh, preferably a 74T-86T (29-34 metric) monofilament fabric. High deposits required for maximum opacity require 62T (24 metric).

STENCILS:

Direct Emulsion Stencils such as Union Ink's INMARCOL-R or INMARCOL-W are recommended.

STENCILS:

MAXOPAKE Neons are smooth and creamy and easy to print. For detailed prints on dark garments, print on a hard pallet with a medium or hard, sharp squeegee. Where a thicker deposit of ink is required, print on a soft shirtboard with a medium, slightly rounded squeegee.

REDUCTION:

MAXOPAKE Neons are supplied Ready-For-Use. Reducing the ink may effect the opacity on dark garments. Always stir well to break down false body and determine actual working viscosity prior to adding reducer. If necessary, reduce with small amounts of  Reducer/Detackifier. Reducing with mineral spirits is not advisable as this may cause the viscosity to escalate the following day.

WASH-UP:

Mineral Spirits or biodegradable WASH-9900 Skreen Kleen.

CURING:

Plastisol inks will not air dry and must be heat cured. Curing can be accomplished with the use of a conveyor dryer, flash curing unit, or simple infrared heater. MAXOPAKE Neons will fully cure and withstand repeated washings when the entire ink deposit reaches 300F (149C). (Note: The oven setting may have to exceed 325F in order for the ink deposit to achieve this temperature.)

CAUTION:

Always pretest for curing, adhesion, opacity, washability and other specific requirements.
