The MIXO Series plastisol is designed with the most advanced technology and formulated with state-of-the-art raw materials to provide the best printing opaque plastisol in the industry.
The MIXO Series prints easily by hand and will also run on the fastest production machines. With MIXO plastisols, you won't have to slow your production with additional flash curing stations between colors or to clean excessive build-up under the screens.
The MIXO Series contains balanced, Ready-For-Use plastisols--not concentrated pigments.
The MIXO-1000 Super White is extremely opaque on dark garments, can be easily intermixed with other MIXO Series colors, and performs well as a fast flashing underbase white on 100% cotton fabric to provide a smooth finish for overprinting.
In order to achieve the brilliance of the PANTONE Colors when printed on black fabrics with no white underlay, a 60T (24T metric) monofilament mesh is reccommeded. However, when printing on light fabrics, meshes from 86-230 are suitable.
The MIXO Series plastisols have been printed through meshes ranging from 60-175T (24-70 metric) monofilament with excellent opacity. Colors which are mixed according to MIX-OPAKE System formulations are designed to be printed through a 60T (24T metric) monofilament mesh on to black 100% cotton fabric, with no white underlay. Specific color strengths may appear different printed through finer mesh.
Direct Emulsion stencils such as Union Ink's INMARCOL-R, INMARCOL-W, or UNICOL-2000 are recommended.
MIXO Series plastisols are supplied Ready-For-Use. These premium plastisols usually "body up" or achieve a very short body while left at rest in the can. Vigorously mix the inks before concluding that the inks need reducer.
Reducing MIXO Series inks is not recommended as this will reduce the opacity of the finished print. If necessary, reduce with less than 2% of Reducer/ Detackifier. Reducing with Mineral Spirits is not advisable as this may cause the viscosity to escalate the next day.
Dark 100% Cotton
The MIXO Series plastisols have been printed through meshes ranging from 60-175T (24-70 metric) monofilament with excellent opacity. Colors which are mixed according to MIX-OPAKE System formulations are designed to reproduce specific colors when printed through a 60T (24T metric) monofilament mesh on to black 100% cotton fabric, with no white underlay.
Dark Cotton/Polyester-Blends
For excellent results on cotton/polyester blended dark fabrics, use Union Ink's PAFC-1050 Fast Flash Low Bleed White or PADM-1057 Premium Low-Bleed White as the low-bleed underbase white. Overprint the MIXO Series colors through 86-175T (34-70T metric) monofilament mesh. See the Technical Data Sheets for PAFC-1050 and PADM-1057 for their complete specifications.
White or Light Colored Fabrics
Any MIXO Series plastisol color or mixture can also be mixed with the MIXO-9070 Transparent Base to reduce the opacity (and cost) and create an ink which will print and cover exceptionally well on white or light colored fabrics.
The recommended addition of MIXO-9070 Transparent Base is 10-50% by weight, depending upon the color of the fabric and the desired softness and opacity of the finished print. Always pre-test before full production.
Plastisol inks will not air dry and must be heat cured. Curing can be accomplished with
the use of a conveyor dryer, flash curing unit, or simple infrared heater. MIXO Series
plastisols will fully cure and withstand repeated washings when the entire ink deposit
reaches 300F (149C).
Note: The oven setting may have to exceed 325F in order for the entire ink deposit to
achieve this temperature.
Mineral Spirits or biodegradable WASH-9900 Skreen Kleen.
Always pre-test for curing, adhesion, crocking, washability and other specific requirements.
