BUILD-UP BUSTER

APPLICATION

FEATURES

SPECIFICATIONS: PLUS-9020

GENERAL INFORMATION:

When added to plastisol inks, UNION INK's PLUS-9020 Build-Up Buster dramatically reduces the amount of ink that adheres to the bottom of the screen. This "build-up" can lead to undesirable smearing among printed colors when printing wet-on-wet and cause significant cleaning interruptions during production. The problem occurs most often when printing very opaque inks and fluorescent "neon" inks but also shows up in standard colors or 4-color process work.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

UNION INK's PLUS-9020 Build-Up Buster should be added in a 2-5% ratio by weight. Test in small batches to determine the optimal amount to use with the specific ink and production conditions.

SHELF LIFE:

Once the UNION INK PLUS-9020 Build-Up Buster has been added to the plastisol, the mixture will effectively reduce "build-up" throughout the useful life of the ink. However, minor evaporation of the Build-Up Buster is likely to occur over time; keep the container lid closed tightly during storage. Always remix and pretest inks that have been left for extended periods of time.

REDUCING:

Add desired amount of Build-Up Buster to the ink before adding any reducer--this may eliminate the need for any further reducing. NOTE: UNION INK's PLUS-9020 Build-Up Buster is not a balanced reducer. If further reducing is necessary,  Reducer/Detackifier should be used.

EFFECTS ON CURING:

Adding PLUS-9020 Build-Up Buster should have no noticeable effect on curing.

CAUTION:

Always pretest mixtures in small batches before production.
