PRODUCT NAME: PAVOSTRETCH CLEAR CODE: PPPS-9030

DESCRIPTION AND USE: A ready for use (unless catalyst is required) transparent base or flock adhesive for use on stretchy fabrics such as LycraŽ, when maximum durability is required, or on difficult to adhere fabrics such as water repellent nylon.

HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INFORMATION:

Manufactured using the safest possible ingredients and represents no health hazard in normal use. Container label should read:

HEALTH - 1, FLAMMABILITY - 0, REACTIVITY - 0, PERSONAL PROTECTION - B

STENCIL : Water resistant.

MESH: 33 - 156 monofilament polyester as required for best coverage.

PIGMENTING:

STANDARD AND FLUORESCENT COLORS: Can be pigmented with PAVONINE PIGMENTS to produce colors indicated on the PAVONINE color chart or custom colors.

METALLIC AND PEARLESCENT COLORS: Can be colored with 10% to 20% metallic pig-ments, pearlescent pigments or Sparkletone flakes as required.

ADDING OPACITY: Up to 10% Super White or combination of Super White & other pigment may be added. Over 10% will effect adhesion. If an opaque ink is required use PAVOSTRETCH OPAQUE or PAVOSTRETCH WHITE

REDUCTION: Reduce with water if required but avoid over reduction when coloring with metallic flakes or pearlescents and when being used as a flock adhesive. PAVAFIX H tends to act as a reducer so reduction prior to adding it is not recommended.

CATALYSTS:

HOT CURE CATALYST: Addition of PAVAFIX H will improve adhesion and washability but reduce elasticity. Catalyst is not normally required when printing as an ink on LycraŽ but 1% will improve adhesion, scuff resistance and possibly allow lower oven temperature with minimal effect on elasticity. Up to 8% is recommended when printing on water repellent nylon or when using as an adhesive. Mix only what will be used within 12 hrs.

CUSTOMER TESTING REQUIRED!

COLD CURE CATALYST: Hot curing is recommended whenever possible but when proper oven is not available or when printing on temperature sensitive materials, addition of 1.5% PAVAFIX A should insure washability of air dry prints on most fabrics. 3% PAVAFIX C should provide adequate adhe-sion to most water repellant fabrics and LycraŽ without effecting stretch, and when used as the adhesive for SPARKLETONE flakes and glitters or reflective beads. Reflective beads require additionof 1% PAVAFIX RF as well to achieve proper adhesion. Allow 48 hours at room temperature prior to testing. Mix only what will be used in a few hrs.

CUSTOMER TESTING REQUIRED!

KEEPING SCREENS OPEN: Keep enough ink in the screen to allow a 1/8th inch flood over entire image area. Flood heavily with an image hiding flood after each impression if possible. Keep a gloss of water on the ink in the screen by misting with a inexpensive trigger spray bottle available from K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Clean image area with a wet sponge prior to stoppages of up to 30 minutes and to remove ink and wipe down entire screen with a wet sponge prior to longer stoppages.

PRINTING : A continuous surface deposit free of holes and thick enough to allow enough penetration on flock fiber or effect flake for proper anchorage is required when printing as an adhesive so select mesh and adjust print technique accordingly. Minimum squeegee pressure and tightly stretched screens adjusted to minimum off contact and soft pallets are recommended to keep print on the surface and or avoid driving the base of a Sparkletone or glitter print into an absorbent fabric and leaving unanchored flake behind.. Trapping of colors can cause adhesion and printing problems when pigmenting for direct printing so butt registration in preferred.

DUSTING OR ELECTROSTATIC FLOCKING: must be done immediately after printing before the adhesive film can start to dry for best results when used as an adhesive.

FLASHING OR PRESS PRESSING : Can be flashed like plastisol in a 10 to 15 seconds once the pallets are warmed up if printed as an ink through 110 or finer meshes. Can be set by direct contact with a hot platen ( PRESS PRESSED ) in about 5 seconds.

DRYING : 90 seconds or more at 340°F+ in an oven with good airflow is required for proper cure. Addition of PAVAFIX H, which is always recommended when used as a flock or flake adhesive, will improve adhesion, scuff resistance and washability and possibly allow slightly lower oven temperature but reduce elasticity. CUSTOMER TESTING REQUIRED!

SHELF LIFE: Up to two years if kept in a tightly sealed container & in a cool dry place.

WASH UP: Water or water + all purpose cleaner with ammonia should be all that is required if clean up is done immediately at the end of a run. Glass cleaner with ammonia or similar product will help remove stains and dried in ink. DO NOT ALLOW INKS CONTAINING PAVAFIX A, PAVAFIX C TO COMPLETELY DRY IN THE SCREEN! Once dry a chemical cross linked film will be difficult if not impossible to remove.

CUSTOMER TESTING REQUIRED!
