MIXING OPAQUE COLORS:

Strong opaque standard colors similar to the 6% level on the Pavonine color chart can be produced by using 12% Pavonine pigment except for Blueberry which requires only 10% and Navy that requires 17%. Addition of 1.5% Pavassist Anti Wicking Agent (PR 1733) is recommended for maximum brightness of yellows and reds.

Opaque medium strength standard colors similar to the 2% level on the PAVONINE color chart can be produced by letting down strong colors with Pavopaque white or Pavostretch White. One part Pavopaque White to Two parts strong color will approximate the 2% colors on the Pavonine chart except for orange which requires approximately one part Pavopaque White to four parts 12 % orange and navy which requires approximately equal parts 17% navy and Pavopaque White. Addition of 1.5% Pavassist Anti Wicking Agent (PR 1733) is recommended for maximum brightness of colors in the yellow and red range.

Opaque pastel shades similar to the 0.2% level on the Pavonine color chart can be produced by mixing one part of a 2% simulation above with approximately 4 parts Pavopaque White. Addition of 1.5% Pavassist Anti Wicking Agent will is recommended to brighten colors.

MIXING SEMI OPAQUE COLORS: Strong Pavopaque colors may be cut with up to equal parts Pavoclear B or Pavoclear C to reduce hand and cost when printing on light colored goods.

Screen Mesh: 86 - 156 T polyester. Select meshes that coat individual threads but do not weld them together and ruin the hand. If a plastic look and feel that does not breathe is desired use of plastisol is recommended.

Stencil: Water resistant. Do not under expose.

Printing: Minimum pressure through a tightly stretched screen that is barely off contact. A soft pallet will keep ink on the surface thus increasing brilliance. Non hiding colors (yellows, fluorescents and white), should be printed last or flashed or set by direct contact with a hot platen. Use finest possible mesh if flashing to reduce time.

Reduction: Water or PAVASSIST SMOOTH (SMO)

Open Time: To avoid drying in the screen flood heavily between impressions. Mist with water occasionally (keeping a surface gloss on the ink in the screen) and prior to and during brief work stoppages. Remove ink and wipe screen clean with a damp sponge prior to work stoppages of over a few minutes.

Drying: Requires a minimum of 90 seconds in a drier with good airflow at 320°F or higher to insure washability. 0.5% to 1% PAVAFIX A will improve washability if adequate oven is not available.

Clean Up: Water or water with an all purpose cleaner with ammonia. Window cleaner with ammonia or similar product will help remove stains and dried ink. Follow with clear water wash.

Shelf Life: About 2 years if kept tightly closed and in a cool area.
