Hazardous Material Information: Manufactured using the safest possible ingredients and represents no health hazard in normal use. Container label should read:

Mixing Instructions: Stir in 6% (less if possible based on dischargeability of the garment) ZFS discharge agent by weight prior to use. By volume that is approximately 1 rounded tablespoonful / cup of PREPRINT. Mix until totally dissolved.
Pot Life: Mix only what can be used in 1 to 2 days. Do not store PREPRINT containing ZFS.
Stencil: Water resistant:
Mesh: 110 to 156 polyester as required for coverage and penetration beyond visible depth.
Printing: The new "B" formula has a gel like consistency designed to prevent run through and contamination of the backs of screens in a clamshell type press that was a common complaint with the original formula. The heavier consistency also allows flooding between impressions which is standard procedure with waterbased inks being printed on manual presses. Penetration into the garment beyond visible depth is required so adjust squeegee and print technique as require. The fastest possible squeegee speed is recommended. Reduce with water if required to increase penetration. Suitable plastisols with pigments that are not effected by the discharge reaction can be printed wet on wet on top of wet, flashed or press pressed preprint. Press pressing or flashing of the PREPRINT CLEAR is not required but does make the clear underbase print visible and drives off water prior to the oven which speeds up cure.
Flashing Or Press Pressing: May be flashed prior to printing the plastisol but this may require 20 seconds or more if printed through courser meshes. Discharge can be completed in less than 5 seconds by direct contact with a hot platen with surface temperature of 330°F to 375°F ( 165°C to 190°C).
Venting: Although there is no evidence that formaldehyde is released during the discharge reaction or drying process, but products of decomposition including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and zinc oxides are possible. For this reason fumes created during flashing, press pressing and drying should be vented.
Drying: Plastisol printed over the preprint will trap water and slow evaporation. This extends the discharge reaction which produces the lightest possible base color and thus the brightest plastisol colors, but the plastisol will not reach proper cure temperature until the water is gone. This means that longer than normal cure times will be required for plastisols printed on top of wet PREPRINT CLEAR. A minimum of 90 seconds at a minimum of 330°F (165°C) is recommended through an oven with good airflow (preferable gas).
Clean Up: Water or water with an all purpose cleaner with ammonia. Window cleaner with ammonia or similar product will help remove stains and dried ink. Follow with clear water wash.
Testing Required: It is the printers responsibility to determine if the plastisol used is compatible with the PREPRINT and that proper cure of the plastisol is being achieved by preforming wash tests and by constantly monitoring the process. PAVONINE PRODUCTS, having no control over the suitability of the garment and plastisol selected and over the processing conditions, can not assume liability for color or durability of the finished print.
Shelf Life: One year if kept in a tightly sealed container in a cool place. Freezing point is about 15° F so freezing during shipping is unlikely even if it does freeze, it can be thawed , stirred, and used. Mix prior to using.
Safety Considerations: The ZFS discharge agent recommended (ZINC FORMALDEHYDE SULFOXYLATE) is not toxic or hazardous but it should be handled as specified in the MSDS and direct contact, ingestion or inhalation of the dust or fumes should be avoided.
Tagging Of Discharge Printed Garments: As the chemicals remaining in the print are highly water soluble they can be removed by rinsing the garment in warm water. It is because they are so soluble in water or perspiration that residual chemicals in an unwashed print might irritate the skin of sensitive people. In effect someone wearing an unwashed garment is preforming their own allergy test and a few are bound to test positive. For this reason and because the possible problem is easily eliminated by washing the garment in plain water we recommend that discharge printed garments be tagged " WASH IN WARM WATER PRIOR TO WEARING".
