PRODUCT NAME: PAVONINE DC WHITE CODE: DSPP-1020
Description / Use: A pre-pigmented Discharge White - Just add ZFS and print. For use on dischargeable fabric.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INFORMATION:
Manufactured using the safest possible ingredients and represents no health hazard in normal use. Container label should read:
HEALTH -1; FLAMMABILITY - 0; REACTIVITY - 0; PERSONAL PROTECTION -B
Mixing Instructions: Just stir in 8% Discharge Agent ZFS and print. Pre-dissolving of ZFS in water may be required to insure proper dispersing.
Reduction: Add water if required to prevent climbing squeegee or to obtain adequate penetration into fabric.
PRINTING
Stencil: Water resistant - do not under expose.
Mesh: 110 to 156 polyester for maximum brightness.
Technique: As is the case with regular discharge inks, the print must penetrate the garment to discharge the garment color beyond visible depth. If dried print can be easily scratched off with a fingernail, it is not penetrating enough to adhere and ink should be reduced with water to correct the problem. (10%+ recommended)
Single Colors: Maximum brightness will be achieved by double stroking with a heavy stroke to penetrate the garment and a light stroke for surface deposit.
Multi Colors: For maximum brightness print last or Flash or Press Press prior to subsequent impressions but PAVONINE DC White remains fairly bright even if printed first color down & can be used as an underbase for wet-on-wet printing with regular DC colors.
Open Time: PAVONINE DC White has an advantage over regular discharge inks because it is viscous enough to allow a heavy flood without running through the screen and causing misprints.
Drying: 90 seconds+ at 320°F or more in an oven with good airflow is required. The discharge reaction is not instantaneous and stops when the water in the formula is driven off. The discharge reaction takes place while the ink firm temperature (Not oven temperature) is in the 250°F or 300°F range. Too high a temperature will drive off the water before the reaction can be completed. Discharge obtained by a perfect drier can be simulated by discharging a wet print by direct contact with a hot platen, such as a heat transfer machine, for 5 to 10 seconds at 320°-350°F. Once best possible oven conditions have been established variation should be avoided as it will cause variation in color brightness.
Clean Up: Water or water with an all purpose cleaner with ammonia. Window cleaner with ammonia or similar product will help remove stains and dried ink. Follow with clear water wash.
Shelf Life: About 6 months to a year if kept tightly closed and in a cool area.
Washing Prior to Wearing is Recommended: Garments printed with ZINC FORMALDEHYDE SULFOXYLATE based discharge systems should be washed prior to wearing. As the chemicals remaining in the garment are quite soluble in water, they should be removed by washing in warm water. It is because they are highly soluble (even in perspiration) that the chemicals remaining in the garment are more likely to irritate the skin of sensitive people and thus should be washed out of the garment prior to wearing.
