PRODUCT NAME: PAVASSIST PLASTACHARGE CODE: DSPCH-9070
DESCRIPTION: Discharge additive for plastisols. Transforms selected plastisols into discharge inks for use on DISCHARGEABLE GARMENTS. As washfastness and color fidelity are totally a function of plastisol, garment selected and cure conditions, Pavonine Products can not be held responsible for washability or color value of prints made using plastisols modified with Plastacharge! Test carefully for compatibility with plastisols and the effect on color value and washability of finished print prior to using. (See MIXING below.) Plastisol colors in the red to magenta range are especially prone to being shifted or bleached by the discharge agent during a run. Given suitable plastisols and proper garments, Plastacharge makes it possible to produce incredibly bright colors with a very soft hand without flashing.
OTHER POSSIBLE USES: Can be used without discharge agent to give plastisols an ultra soft hand and absorbency on whites or light colored garments and terry cloth.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INFORMATION: Components do not meet current definition of carcinogens 29 CFR 1910.1200. Represents no health hazard in normal use. Container should read.
HEALTH - 1, FLAMMABILITY - 0, REACTIVITY - 0, PERSONAL PROTECTION - B
STENCIL: Water resistant only.
MESH: 110 - 230 meshes as required. Meshes in the 123 -178 preferred for underbasing plastisols.
MIXING: Prior to a production run ALWAYS check suitability of any plastisol by mixing 6% ZFS into equal parts plastisol and Plastacharge and comparing a print made immediately with one made after 4 hours. Given no significant change in color, proceed as follows.
STEP 1: Mix equal parts, by weight, of a suitable plastisol and Pavassist Plastacharge until homogeneous. Can be blended by hand or with a mixer, but blade speeds high enough to heat the plastisol should be avoided. Mixture should be stable for several weeks.
STEP 2: Add 6% ZFS discharge agent prior to use and mix until dissolved. Mixing by hand may require several minutes. Once the discharge agent is added, the mixture should be used within 24 hours.
PRINTING: Print wet on wet with good squeegee pressure to force into substrate. Occasional misting of ink in the screen with water will keep mixture fluid and effective during long runs.
REDUCTION: Reduce with water if mixture becomes viscous during a long run.
DRYING: Requires a minimum of 90 seconds in a well vented drier at a minimum of 320°F to complete reaction and obtain washability. Driving the water off too quickly will cut the reaction short and result in dull colors.
WASH UP: When used with compatible plastisols the screens can be washed up easily with water.
WASH BEFORE WEARING: The discharge agent ZFS is highly soluble in water, and can irritate the skin of some sensitive people. Garments should be washed in warm water to remove the residual chemicals before they are worn. If this is not done before the garment reaches the customer, a wash in warm water before wearing tag should be attached.
