About Pavonine
Pavonine started as a division of a German company, CHT R. Beitlich & GmbH, under the name CHT North America in July 1990. The company was located in Lynchburg,OH because a suitable facility was available there, practically within walking distance of my home. The initial mission was to stock and sell products made in Germany to American textile printers, but the falling value of the US Dollar in relationship to the mark, and the fact that products better suited to shorter driers found on the side of the Atlantic were required to make it necessary for us to start manufacturing our own products. The Pavonine name was originally used to differentiate American made from imported products.
In 1994, CHT North America was sold to Union Ink of Ridgefield, NJ. Instead of shutting down the Lynchburg operation and making products in New Jersey, Union Ink allowed us to continur functioning as a separate operation. The wisdom of the decisions has been demonstrated by a series of unparalleled technical breakthroughs. Pavonine, in cooperation with Union Ink, has created today's cutting edge discharge plastisol combination technology. Pavonine products has taken water-based inks from being what printers have to use on towels to being the key to high-end markets.
Pavonine not only offers inks that will out last a water repellent nylon jacket or a lycraŽ swim suit they are printed on, but inks that will sparkle in sunlight and reflect light at night while doing so. Not only have we developed inks that can be used by printers with shorter dryers, we have developed inks that can be used by printers with no driers at all. In our relatively short history the name Pavonine has gone from being a word printers struggle to pronounce to one they say clearly when an extraordinary product is required. Best of all as far as I am concerned is the fact that Pavonine has allowed me to get back to my roots in product development and work with some great people.
